Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Botanicals

Do you really grow your own botanicals?
Yes. Most of our herbs—like Hibiscus, Calendula, Marshmallow Root, Chamomile, Rosemary, and Nettle—are grown from seed in our family garden, Wicked Wild Farm, in Burlington, Massachusetts. We tend to them without pesticides, harvesting only when each plant is at its most vibrant to preserve its natural nutrients.

Why do you use whole-plant infusions instead of extracts?
We believe plants are most powerful in their wholeness. Our infusions steep for several weeks, allowing every beneficial compound—from mucilage to antioxidants—to gently release into the oils. It’s a slow process, but it creates skincare rich in nourishment and integrity.

Are your products organic?
While not all ingredients are certified organic, we prioritize organically grown and sustainably sourced botanicals whenever possible—especially those we grow ourselves.

 Product Questions

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Every formula is made for dry and sensitive skin, using gentle botanicals that soothe, protect, and hydrate without irritation.

Do your products contain synthetic fragrances or preservatives?
Never. Our scents come only from pure botanicals and essential oils. We avoid parabens, phthalates, silicones, and synthetic stabilizers.

How long do your products last?
Because our products are made in small batches with natural ingredients, we recommend using them within 6–12 months of opening. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve freshness.

Are your products vegan?
Most are vegan, except a few that include ethically sourced beeswax. Each product page clearly notes when beeswax is used.

How are your products tested?
We test all products on ourselves, friends, and family—never on animals. Each formula is used daily in our own routines before release.

Our Process

What does “slow-crafted” mean?
It means we take our time—from seed to skin. Our infusions steep for weeks, our butters are whipped slowly to preserve structure, and every jar and bottle is hand-poured with care. Nothing rushed, nothing mass-produced.

Do you make everything by hand?
Yes. Every step—from harvesting and infusing to blending and bottling—is done by hand in small batches to ensure quality and potency.

Why is the color or scent slightly different from batch to batch?
Natural variations are part of working with real plants. Each harvest brings its own hue and aroma—just as nature intended. These subtle differences are a sign of authenticity.

Shipping & Orders

Where do you ship?
We currently ship across the U.S. from our studio in Massachusetts. International shipping will be available soon.

How long will my order take to ship?
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 3–5 business days. During seasonal launches or holidays, please allow a few extra days as we hand-pack each order with care.

Can I modify or cancel my order after it’s placed?
We begin preparing orders quickly, but please email us at customerservice@chironbotanicals.com within 24 hours and we’ll do our best to help.

What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of handmade skincare, we cannot accept returns once a product is opened. However, if your order arrives damaged or there’s a concern, please contact us and we’ll make it right.

Brand & Community

Who are the founders?
Chiron Botanicals was founded by Heather and Bill, a husband-and-wife team who turned their love of growing plants and caring for family skin needs into a slow-crafted skincare line.

What does the name “Chiron” mean?
In Greek mythology, Chiron was the wise healer—half man, half horse—who taught that true healing begins with care, patience, and balance. Our brand honors that philosophy in every formula.

Do you offer wholesale or collaborations?
Yes. We partner with boutiques, wellness spaces, and like-minded brands. For inquiries, reach out to customerservice@chironbotanicals.com
